About the Practice
Standish Street Surgery is an accredited, family-oriented teaching practice seeking a GP to join our supportive and friendly team. Located in Myrtleford, the largest town in the Alpine Shire, we service a population of around 6,000 plus surrounding communities.
We are an RACGP & ACRRM Accredited Training Practice, regularly supervising registrars and medical students. The practice has 10 consulting rooms, a procedure and nursing room, and on-site Dorevitch Pathology. Visiting specialists include Endocrinologist, Diabetes Educator, Dietitian, and Psychologist. We are supported by 4 practice nurses, 6 reception staff, an office manager and a practice manager.
- Private Billing Practice (Bulk Billing for pensioners, seniors, and under 16s)
- Hours: Monday–Friday 9am–5:30pm; Saturday 9am–12pm
- Accredited with AGPAL
- Teaching Practice experienced in supervising registrars and medical students
Role Requirements
- AHPRA registration as a GP (FRACGP/FACRRM preferred or working towards)
- Experience in rural communities desirable
- Credentialing as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Alpine Health required
About Alpine Health – Myrtleford
Myrtleford’s 15-bed public hospital provides Urgent Care, Dialysis, District Nursing, Visiting Radiology and Allied Health Services. Two aged care facilities are nearby: Mercy Health Myrtleford Lodge (80 beds) and Barwidgee Lodge (28 high-care beds).
The successful GP will participate in:
• Hospital ward rounds (morning)
• Weekly evening on-call roster
• Rotational after-hours roster (shared with Bright township)
